The position of Infrastructure asset management consultant involves the following business objectives:
- Developing and implementing asset management strategies and plans to optimize asset lifecycle and performance.
- Analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in asset utilization and maintenance.
- Collaborating with clients to understand their specific needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Advising on best practices for asset management, including risk assessment and mitigation.
- Supporting the integration of technology and tools for effective asset tracking and management.
- Preparing detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, outlining findings and recommendations.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Providing training and guidance to client teams on asset management principles and practices.
- Facilitating stakeholder engagement and communication throughout the asset management process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides consulting support to the Project Manager, Project Team Members, and the Project Clients on all aspects of infrastructure asset management.
- Coordinates asset management projects, including building condition assessments and state of infrastructure reports.
- Develops and manages infrastructure asset management activities, projects and programs, including audits, project/program reviews, climate change and energy conservation initiatives.
- Coordinates infrastructure asset management activities to support the overall clients’ asset management initiatives.
- Prepares capital repair and rehabilitation plans and provides capital rehabilitation coordination for various facilities.
- Prepares project definition reports outlining estimates of project requirements and costs and assists with capital forecasts and reports.
- Manages the development, maintenance, and improvement of asset management models and analysis.
- Assists in preparing, recommending, and controlling budgets and work plans.
- Participates in planning and formulation of initiatives for service improvements.
- Assists in the overall direction of setting goals, and objectives, developing policies and procedures.
- Researches, reviews, and implements improvements to asset management systems.
- Supervises staff, including recruitment, selection, hiring, scheduling, assigning and monitoring work, determining training and development needs, coaching and mentoring, conducting performance appraisals, and determining/recommending disciplinary action up to and including dismissal, regional policies, and practices.
- Ensures that operating staff works in a safe manner utilizing all required health and safety equipment and protective devices and following all measures and procedures, as required.
- Participates on various internal and external committees, task forces, and focus groups, as directed.
- Oversees contract procurement including preparation of requests for quotations and proposals and the hiring of outside contractors and consultants; monitors expenditures and provides oversight of project.
- Manages information in accordance with legislation and corporate standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have a Project Management or Technical certification (e.g. P.Eng., C.E.T., PMP, or CAMP) or approved equivalent.
- Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated experience in asset management, or similar industry with responsibility for developing/supervising the development of procurement documents and contract management practices, program planning, and minimum three (3) years of direct supervisory experience.
- Excellent portfolio of successfully implemented asset management, asset rehabilitation, and development initiatives, projects, or programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant standards, acts, and regulations.
- Commercial business orientation and financial acumen.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of local business requirements and practices associated with infrastructure asset management.
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
- Full professional proficiency in English.
